Dear Microsoft,

As we all eagerly await Vista, we are caught in a strange state. We would like to know how much computing and graphics power, as well as how much memory we need. Yes, we have received oblique descriptions from you, such as a “modern cpu,” but give us something more substantial. Something easier and more fun to look at than your hardware recommendations.

Heck, you could do this for so many of your products.

What I’m talking about is of course, already out there. Gamers use it to see if a new version of their much-anticipated game will run on their computers. I’m talking about System Requirements Lab.

Think about it. Buy it or emulate it. Whatever. Just make it easier for all of us.
