CNBC’s Squawk Box reported this morning on my way to work that AOL is considering offering its service for free to individuals with broadband connections. According to CNBC the company could lose billions in subscription revenue, but offset some of that with higher advertising revenue. (And, of course, they could lay off lots of customer service employees.)

I can only imagine what kind of headache this will create when even more people realize how pathetic AOL’s email service is.
